Part 3
(101-150)

101.       Benefits.

102.       Great medical care when you get sick.

103.       Tuition reimbursement for getting an education.

104.       Great support from everyone when you are down and need a pick me up.

105.       Good perks.

106.       Paid vacations.

107.       Sick leave to use when you are sick.

108.       Holidays.

109.       Equal opportunity for everyone.

110.       Great medical staff.

111.       Compassionate medical staff, when I requested that we pray before they began my operation, everyone in the operating room stopped and prayed with me not for me, but with me.

112.       Networking—employees helping other employees find the answer to anything we ask.

113.       Research. Hopefully one day UTMB will come up with the cure for cancer, cystic fibrosis, sickle cell, and all the other diseases in this world.

114.       Location, location, location.

115.       It’s so convenient to work close to home— especially with such caring individuals.

116.       It is very gratifying to work at an institution like UTMB, which perpetuates excellence at every turn. I saw first-hand the care family members received when things were pretty bleak. The caring and professionalism exhibited by the staff involved with my father’s and mother’s care made me proud to work at a place where excellence is considered the norm.

117.       What a wonderful facility! Friendly, smiling people everywhere! Complete strangers smile and say “hi.” The faculty are genuinely caring of their patients and because of their concern, this makes an excellent example for the medical students to follow. I can’t imagine there being a better teaching facility anywhere!

118.       It is good to have employment.

119.       The UTMB landscaping is beautiful and serene; even the children’s garden.

120.       We take pride in what we do.

121.       The department I work in has co-workers that really care and always have encouragement for others.

122.       As many departments that have been closed down and have had to relocate it does keep the mind from becoming stagnant and keeps everyone on their toes.

123.       Others at UTMB donate sick time to personnel in time of a family crisis.

124.       Some other businesses have UTMB ID Discounts—every little bit helps.

125.       Retreats and vendor expos are an advantage.

126.       There are a lot of free educational classes offered which are very beneficial.

127.       The people are very fascinating to work with from all walks of life. I’ve learned so much in the 20 years of service in this institution that it benefits me to continue my work here because I really enjoy my job position, especially helping with patient care.

128.       Our wide variety of ethnic backgrounds which shows we work at a non-discriminating establishment.

129.       In my department we are treated as responsible adults and with respect. We know the missions of UTMB and of our department. There are jobs that need to be done to successfully accomplish these missions. Each person or team in the department is given one or more of these jobs and if applicable, the time frame in which to do it. Within reason, we choose the hours we work and which (if any) day we will telecommute. Whenever new positions open in our department we are given the opportunity to apply first. Our managers keep us informed of developments at the university which may impact us. They want to see us grow and to be content with what we do. I love it!

130.       UTMB does stuff for their patients when no one else will.

131.       Work School Program

132.       I am lucky to work with the greatest people on earth everyday. Their professionalism shines through.

133.       Working at UTMB is somewhat like a marriage—-love, family, security, benefits.....forever changing, with unbelievable advances in technology, great strides in discovery, each day stimulating and challenging, and I love this family of which I am a member, it’s still exciting after 38 years (research).

134.       It employs many intelligent and creative researchers that are changing the future of health care with their discoveries.

135.       We keep up with technology. As advances are made, new equipment is purchased. It creates new challenges and provides for continuing education to stimulate our minds.

136.       It is like one big family.

137.       It’s a great place to work. I was glad to get hired here. UTMB has given me a chance to benefit myself better.

138.       I like working here because I like working with the community.

139.       The pride of being associated with an organization with such an illustrious history of innovation and service to the field of health care and the community makes such a difference in attitude, especially in such unsettling times as the past 90 days, and provides a sense of honor and stability.

140.       The smile on someone’s face when you’ve helped them find the elevator or the right hallway. I know that they’re visitors to UTMB and probably with a sick loved one. It makes me feel good that I could help them and proud to know that if it wasn’t me that gave the directions, someone else would have given them.

141.       I know that I can help the patients while smiling, and that makes a difference.

142.       What could be better than a university at the beach? I love working for a university mostly because of the diverse communities that usually take shape in and around them, and UTMB is a great example of a university community.

143.       UTMB cares about your family and will adjust your working schedule to accommodate having a family and other responsibilities.

144.       I love helping people, it gives you a wonderful feeling when they are ill and have no idea of what to do and when you can help them they are so grateful and to me it is a wonderful feeling.

145.       UTMB gives me a opportunity to offer up to date and factual nutritional information to women and children in my local community.

146.       There are so many reasons but the biggest reason is because I’m proud of the work that UTMB does. I love it when I hear people who were once patients and their families praise the staff and facilities at UTMB. It’s nice to be associated with an organization that receives such high praise.

147.       Located on a beautiful island of Galveston with no traffic congestion or problems, amicable working conditions and cheerful, caring, dedicated and compassionate staff and doctors.

148.       My co-workers education, experience and ability to make me laugh.

149.       UTMB is a good medical university.

150.       Galveston is a beautiful town on an island, close to Houston, a big city, and the prices of housing are relatively reasonable, when comparing with that in some states, which=peaceful+comfortable+convenient.
