Application Process
How to become a member. (Live
Web Stream of February 6 presentation livepresentation2-6-07)
Those seeking membership should consider whether they
have the time available to devote 5-10 hours per month to dedicate
to the service of the Academy. Additionally, building a portfolio is
a time consuming process that may include workshops in addition to
the effort just gathering personal information.
Should the Academy receive an overwhelming response, a lottery
process may be used to determine which faculty will be asked to
submit application. Those faculty will be asked to submit 3 copies
each of an educational portfolio, a CV, and a letter of
recommendation from their Chair. The portfolio will be the primary
basis for selection into the Academy. Each applicant will be
reviewed by a primary and secondary reviewer who will make
recommendations to the panel. The members of the panel will study
and score each portfolio then vote on the selection into the
Academy.
To build your portfolio, please refer to the Academy's Portfolio
Template and the subsequent Companion Document. These will be the
tools used to complete personal portfolios for review by the Selection
Committee. For assistance, workshops will be offered and mentors
will be available.
