Jason Hardcastle, M.S.
Jason Hardcastle is a Laboratory Biosafety Training Specialist for the Laboratory Biosafety Training Program. His primary responsibilities include BSL2 and BSL3 training.
Prior to joining the National Biocontainment Training Center's LBTP, Jason worked in UTMB's Microbiology & Immunology Department. He also served as a research associate with UTMB's Center for Biodefense and Emerging Infectious Diseases (CBEID) where he worked extensively in BSL2 and ABSL3 facilities, including those in the Galveston National Laboratory. His principle responsibilities included select agent model vaccination studies in collaboration with a variety of national and international collaborators. Jason also operated UTMB's select agent aerosol facility for a number of agents studied by the CBEID. He has published in Infection and Immunity, Comparative Medicine, and The Open Microbiology Journal and has presented his work at the Biodefense and Emerging Diseases Research Conference, the American Society of Microbiologists National Conference, and the Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy Conference.
Jason received his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Abilene Christian University and his Masters of Science degree in biology from Arkansas State University.
