About the Staff
Belinda Rivera, B.S., RVT, RLATG, CMAR
Belinda Rivera is the animal biosafety trainer for the UTMB Laboratory Biosafety Training Program. She received a bachelor degree in animal science from Angelo State University and an associate degree in veterinary technology from Tomball College. She has acquired and maintains state and national certifications in animal care, regulations, and management. Belinda is a published author with 15 years experience in research utilizing a diversity of laboratory models. Her work experience includes cardiovascular, surgical training, cancer, and imaging research in both private industry working under Good Laboratory Practices and in academia performing a variety of procedures such as animal care, anesthesia, instrumentation, data collection, monitoring, recovery, and necropsies. Belinda is a member of the Texas Veterinary Medical Association, the Texas Branch American Association for Laboratory Animal Science and the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science.
