Encuentro
Community dialogue on environmental health concerns

One approach for gaining insight on a community’s dynamic needs and supporting active communication is to hold an Encuentro, which offers local organizations, advocates and environmental health scientists an opportunity for small group interaction on a variety of topics. In past three years, the CEHD has participated in four Encuentros, and served as a co-sponsor of three.

What is an Encuentro?

Encuentro, literally translated as "encounter," is a Spanish term for a process that brings together community memebers, researchers, policy makers, and others in a faciliatetd, small group setting to discuss and collectively address the issues a community is facing.
