National Student Research Forum

The CEHD sponsored the first ever Health Disparities Award at the 52nd Annual National Student Research Forum, held at UTMB April 21-22, 2011.

The National Student Research Forum provides “a national scientific assembly, planned and managed by students for presentation of research by medical students, interns and residents, and graduate students in the health sciences.”

CEHD staff served as judges for poster competition entries in the Health Disparities category, and CEHD sponsored a $300 award to the poster competition winner in this category.

University of Alabama student Jason Skelley was presented with the Health Disparities award for his team’s poster titled, “Diabetes in Alabama School Systems: A Survey of Parental Satisfaction with Student Care.”
