Student Training in Global Health Governance
CEHD provided travel scholarships for five UTMB students to attend the Global Health Governance Summit on Food Security at the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine on January 8-9, 2011. Noting that the challenges this generation faces in addressing global health inequities are more complex than ever before, the summit aimed to to help students learn about the emerging field of Global Health Governance through active participation in discussions groups, interaction with experts in the field, and by taking on the roles of global health actors in a simulated policy making process. The summit was sponsored by the American Medical Student Association.
