Tim
Porter-O’Grady, DM, EdD, ScD(h), APRN,
FAAN
is
the senior partner of an international
healthcare consulting firm in Atlanta,
GA specializing in conflict and change,
delivery models, complex health service,
organizational innovation, and health
futures. Tim has published extensively
in healthcare with over 175
professional journal articles and 21
books, and is an eight-time winner of the AJN Healthcare Book of the Year Award.
He has consulted internationally with
over 500 institutions and has lectured
in over 1000 settings internationally.
Tim is noted for his work on shared
governance models, clinical leadership,
conflict, complex systems, health
futures, and innovation.
Dr. Tim Porter-O’Grady returns to UTMB

Ellen Fineout-Overholt, PhD,
RN, FNAP, FAAN is
Dean and Professor of the
School of Professional
Studies at East Texas
Baptist University.
Ellen was formerly a
clinical professor and
director for advancement of
EBP at Arizona State
University. She is a
well-published author in the
field of EBP. A graduate of
UTMB School of Nursing,
University of Alabama and
University of Rochester in
New York, Ellen brings to
the table her values and
passion to
make a meaningful impact on
the lives of students,
patients and communities.

Scott E. Parazynski, MD
is
the Chief Medical Officer
and Director of the
Center for Polar Medical
Operations at UTMB Health.
Before he joined UTMB, Scott
was the Chief Medical
Officer and Chief
Technology Officer at
Methodist Hospital Research
Institute in Houston, Texas.
A graduate of Stanford
University, he trained at
Harvard in preparation for a
career in emergency medicine
and trauma. During his 17
years as an Astronaut (where
he flew 5 Space Shuttle
Missions and conducted 7
spacewalks), he served in
various senior leadership
roles.
After leaving NASA in 2008
he has worked in senior
leadership positions in both
the aerospace and medical
research industries, and has
been instrumental in the
development of numerous
medical devices and other
technologies for supporting
life in extreme
environments.
A recipient of a
number of prestigious
awards, Scott has
numerous publications in the
field of space physiology
and expertise in human
adaptation to stressful
environments.

Dolora (Dolly) Sanares-Carreon, MPA, RN, NE-BC
is the
UTMB Health
Nursing Program Manager for
EBP.
Dolly's
academic education
in nursing, public administration, and regional planning in concert with her
professional experiences in management, research, and development planning
accorded her a
visionary perspective in incepting, testing and implementing
Disciplined Clinical
Inquiry (DCI). DCI©, the UTMB
Health EBP model, provides a platform to enculturate EBP in nursing systems
and draws a roadmap to innovation. Dolly served as principal investigator of a
number of nursing research studies and developed several self-directed web-based learning modules and pathways on EBP. She had presented in local, national, and international conferences. She has published
in peer reviewed journals and the lead author of a book chapter on EBP. Dolly was a
recipient of the Good Samaritan Award (silver medalist, 2011) in nursing administration
and leadership category for her work and scholarship in EBP.
Dolly will
share with us Mainstreaming Disciplined Clinical Inquiry: Building
knowledge-force and driving innovation.
