You can make a difference!

The Preventive Medicine and Community Health Department at UTMB is currently seeking healthy volunteers who:

  • Are 30-42 years old

  • Are not on a vegetarian diet or doctor prescribed diet 

  • Do not desire to become pregnant in the next 2 years

  • Have not taken hormonal contraceptives in the last 6 months

Usted puede diferenciar!

El Departamento de Medecina Preventiva y la Salud de la Comunidad en UTMB esta buscando voluntarias saludables que:

  • tengan 30-40 años de edad

  • No esten en dieta Vegetariana o dieta prescribida por medico

  • No desee llegar a ser embarazada en los pròximos 2 años

  • No esten tomando pastillas de control de embarazo

Volunteers cannot:

  • Be excessively overweight or larger than DD bra cup size

  • Be allergies to soy products 

  • Have had breast enlargement, reduction, or lifting

  • Have a first degree relative (mother or sister) who has been diagnosed with breast or reproductive organ cancer

  • Have had breast or reproductive organ cancer

This study will compare the effects of a soymilk diet and a cow milk diet on breast density, female hormones, and bone density as they relate to the prevention of breast cancer.

Volunteers will receive reimbursement for time, travel, and expenses.

Vountarias no pueden: 

  • Excesivamente con sobre peso o con la copa de sosten mas grande que DD

  • Ser alergicas a productos de soya 

  • Haber tenido reduccion, aumento de busto

  • Haber tenido cancer de pecho o de organos reproductivos

  • Tener un familiar de clase primera( madre o hermana) que aiga sida diagnosticada con cancer de pecho o de organos reproductivos

Este estudio comparará los efectos de una dieta de soya y una dieta de leche de vaca en la densidad de seno, en hormonas femeninas, y en la densidad de hueso como ellos relacionan a la prevención del cáncer de mama.

Se dara reembolso por el tiempo, recorrido, y costos.
