Rotational Schedule – The academic year is broken down into 13 four week blocks. They are scheduled by PGY year as follows:
PGY I –
• 5-6 Blocks-General Medicine/Subspecialty Ward Rotations
• 1 Block-Medical Intensive Care Unit
• 1 Block-Cardiac Care Unit
• 1 Block-Emergency Medicine
• 1 Block-Elective
• 1 Block-Neurology
• 0-1 Block-Lottery/Elective
• 2 2-week blocks of Night Float
• 2 2-week blocks of Rotational Clinics
• 3 weeks of vacation.
PGY II –
• 3-4 Blocks-General Medicine/Subspecialty Ward Rotations
• 1 Block-Medical Intensive Care Unit
• 1 Block-Cardiac Care Unit
• 1-Block-Emergency Medicine
• 1 Block-General Medicine Outpatient Clinic Team Leader
• 2 Blocks-Electives
• 1 Block-Lottery/Elective
• 2 2-week blocks of Night Float
• 2 2-week blocks of Rotational Clinics
• 3 weeks vacation.
PGY III –
• 2-3 Blocks-General Medicine Ward Rotations
• 0-1 Block-Medical Intensive Care
• 0-1 Block-Cardiac Care Unit
• 1 Block-General Medicine Outpatient Clinic Team Leader
• 1 Block-General Internal Medicine Inpatient Consult Service
• 4-5 Blocks-Electives
• 1 Block-Lottery/Elective
• 1 2-week block of Night Float
• 1 2-week block of Rotational Clinics
• 3 weeks vacation.
