Personal Overview
Dr. Recinos is a molecular and vascular biologist interested in gene regulation and early inflammatory signaling events relative to the development of atherosclerosis and aneurysm formation. His studies involve cell culture and animal models with a view towards diagnostics and early therapeutic intervention. He is also interested in roles of components of the renin angiotensin system in exacerbating inflammatory processes in the vasculature. Dr. Recinos is also involved in the teaching of second year medical students in their Cardiovascular Pulmonary Course.

The department of internal medicine is developing evidence based clinical protocols which will be available in EPIC (as order sets) for use when admitting patients with these diagnoses. Their AIM is to standardize care and decrease length of stay and readmission rates.
