Harborside Medical Group is a full service, primary care clinic for adults that offers a caring, experienced medical staff attuned to your individual health needs. Initially the Harborside Medical Group consisted of only 3 physicians but now has grown to include 12 physicians and 1 nurse practioner. Each physician is highly trained in various areas of Internal Medicine, such as women's health issues, hypertension, and health maintenance/wellness, in addition to primary medical care. Our physicians also provide services such as screening for osteoporosis and wellness exams.

The Daniel's Clinic is a Primary Care and General Internal Medicine clinic where residents and faculty work together in patient care teams. Home to almost 100 Internal Medicine Residents, this clinic provides care to patients from the surrounding area primarily encompassing southeast Texas. The scope of the care provided includes both acute ambulatory problems and chronic medical conditions pertinent to General Internal Medicine.

Faculty from the Division of General Internal Medicine staff 3 hospital services in John Sealy Hospital and 2 hospital services in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice hospital, here on the UTMB campus. Together with our residents, our faculty strive to provide exceptional and efficient care to our patients when they are in the hospital.

Our hospitalist program consists of Leah Low, MD and Ahmed Morsy, MD. In addition to teaching on the inpatient ward services, they also supervise the medicine consult service.

The department of internal medicine is developing evidence based clinical protocols which will be available in EPIC (as order sets) for use when admitting patients with these diagnoses. Their AIM is to standardize care and decrease length of stay and readmission rates.
