Biography
Dr. Techksell McKnight completed her residency training at the University of Texas Medical Branch in both Internal Medicine and Preventive Medicine. During this time, she developed an interest in cancer prevention which motivated her to complete a fellowship program in Medical Oncology at UTMB as well. Dr. McKnight has a special interest in high risk breast cancer patients and has been tasked with designing a referral program to capture individuals with a genetic or familial predisposition to develop a malignancy but who have not yet developed cancer. The combination of her Preventive Medicine background and treating patients with cancer makes her a knowledgeable and skillful resource for this type of task.
Dr. McKnight can also provide basic counseling about risk reduction options such as chemoprevention, prophylactic surgery or intense screening/surveillance programs and often collaborates with other sub-specialties, to develop a multidisciplinary comprehensive cancer risk reduction plan for individuals with and without a history malignancy. »Curriculum Vitae
