Overview
Dr. Sarria joined UTMB in 2004 and has served as Fellowship Program Director since 2008. He is actively involved in teaching of Medical Students, Internal Medicine Residents and Infectious Disease Fellows. He received the Academy of Oslerian Medicine Teaching Award in 2008 and the "Best Doctors in America" and Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society Awards in 2011. He actively participates as Ward Attending and Infectious Disease Consultant and runs an outpatient practice in the General Infectious Diseases, HIV/AIDS and Travel Medicine clinics. In addition, he has served as investigator in several HIV/AIDS clinical trials of antiretroviral agents and opportunistic infections and is the author of several peer-reviewed publications.
