Activities
AHEC.
Learn what is
AHEC and why would a community physician want to know about AHEC.
Discover the AHEC activities in this community. You may want to
participate in some of these as part of your service learning
requirement.
One half-day should be spent with an AHEC staff
member.
WIC.
What is WIC and why is it important for community pediatrician to know
abut WIC? One half-day should be spent at a WIC office.
Service Learning
Each student is
expected to be involved in 2
half-days/week (8 half-days per rotation) with a community agency serving
children, youth and/or families. Spend time
volunteering your time and talents.
This could
also be be evenings or
weekend-time.

you send patients to WIC?

responding to this issue outside their clinical practice.
