In accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines, the Employee Health Center will provide preventive and occupational healthcare services to UTMB employees. These services include employee screening, surveillance and exposure follow-up for tuberculosis.
This policy includes the requirement of an initial two-step tuberculin skin test for designated healthcare workers at the time of employment, and an annual repeat screening for some employees on the basis of job category. Healthcare employees will be notified when it is appropriate for this periodic testing.
