The UTMB Student Government Association (SGA) offers a limited amount of funding each year for student organizations to travel to events pertaining to the interests of their organization as well as funding for special events on the UTMB campus (aka. TGITs). Because of recent changes to campus regulations governing how the SGA can fund student organizations, we have made the following changes to ensure that all student organizations have an equal opportunity to receive funding. Please pay particular attention to the new deadlines for funding proposals, which are listed below and are effective immediately:
1) All proposals for Travel funding must be completed and submitted by the first Friday two months preceding the event. For example, if a student organization wishes to attend a conference on January 16-18, the deadline for their proposal is the first Friday of November. In addition, all airline travel must be coordinated and paid for directly through the Office of Student Life after the travel proposal is accepted. The SGA is no longer able to reimburse student organizations for airfare. Please be sure to plan accordingly when planning your proposal.
2) All proposals for TGIT/Special Event funding must be submitted by the First Friday of the month preceding the event. For example, if a student organization wishes to host an event on January 16, the deadline for their proposal is the first Friday in December.
