Students with Disabilities

Services for students with Disabilities is a program within the Office of Student Services in coordination with the Office of Diversity and International Affairs and the Student Affairs offices of the four UTMB schools: Medicine, Nursing, Allied Health and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.


Why we are here:
By law all students with disabilities are guaranteed a learning environment that provides reasonable accommodation of their disability. The rights of students with disabilities are protected under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act which are civil rights provisions aimed at ending discrimination against persons with disabilities.


Mission Statement:
The University of Texas Medical Branch and the Office of Student Services in coordination with the Office of Diversity and International Affairs and the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Allied Health and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences are committed to providing a supportive and challenging environment for students with disabilities who choose to attend UTMB.


Location:
The Office of Student Services is located on the second floor of the Lee Hage Jamail Student Center . The Office of Diversity and International Affairs is located on the first floor of Rebecca Sealy.
