Biographical Information
Dr. Cass received his M.D. from the University of Pittsburgh and completed his residency in Family Medicine at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, PA. Following residency, Dr. Cass completed a Faculty Development Fellowship in Family Medicine at the Milton S. Hershey School of Medicine, Penn State University. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Epidemiology from the Harvard University School of Public Health. Dr. Cass serves as the Vice Chair of the department and as the Research Director. He teaches a seminar series for residents on the principles of evidence-based medicine. Currently Dr. Cass is engaged in clinical research to improve recognition and treatment of osteoporosis. Other interests include using medical decision analysis and cost-effectiveness analysis to study problems commonly encountered in primary care.
