Introduction: East Texas AHEC was initiated in 1991. Based at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, East Texas serves 111 counties and over 14.9 million people through 9 community-based centers. East Texas AHEC seeks to improve the health of our communities by developing a quality health workforce and helping address unmet health needs.
