Dr. Barbara G. Ferrell is a Senior Medical Educator in the Office of Educational Development and Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology

Dr. Ferrell came to medical education ten years ago with degrees in science education and educational psychology and experience in teaching from the fifth grade through graduate school. She has been involved in curriculum development in health science education and has worked with nursing and medical laboratory programs. Her work with clinical performance assessment as well as other aspects of medical education has enabled her to publish and present her work at regional, national and international venues. Dr. Ferrell reviews papers and presentations for a number of medical education journals and organizations and is a member of the Southern Group on Educational Affairs, the Group on Educational Affairs and the American Educational Research Association.

Dr. Ferrell was chosen as on of fifteen individuals nationwide to develop the National Association of Secondary School Principals’ Learning Style Profile.
