Why not live where you can make the most of the many amenities offered by The University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) at Galveston? UTMB encourages single students in the Schools of Medicine, Nursing, Allied Health Sciences, and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences to take advantage of all the benefits of living in the University's on-campus dormitories and apartments.

On-campus housing offers its residents low rent and facilities that are conveniently located within walking distance of all Medical Branch buildings. This can translate into savings of time and money over long commutes and expensive parking fees.

Apartments

UTMB offers its students on-campus apartments. Two can live comfortably in the large one-bedroom apartments. Each is air-conditioned, carpeted, and fully-furnished; and each has a kitchen with all major appliances.

Unlike other complexes, the University's apartments and dormitories offer their residents the companionship of fellow students, which adds an element of safety, promotes new friendships, and provides a convenient source of potential study groups. An off-campus listing is also available for married students.

Dorms

Enjoy clean and spacious suites in dormitories that provide a productive atmosphere for studies and a comfortable environment where you can relax. Suites have two air-conditioned bedrooms and a connecting bathroom. Each room will accommodate one student. Each room is furnished with two beds, dressers, a refrigerator, and built-in desks.

For meals students can prepare their own food in one of the easily accessible dormitory kitchens, or dine in one of the cafeterias or snack bars on campus. There is a color television set located in each of the dormitory lounges.

Field House

On-campus residents can also benefit from the UTMB Field House. Facilities for recreation, relaxation, and exercise are located near the on-campus housing facilities and are available to visiting students at $12.50 per month.

Enjoying plunging into the Olympic-size swimming pool, playing an invigorating game on the tennis or basketball courts, joining a few friends for football or softball on UTMB's fields, or running laps at the jogging track.

Inside the Field house is a state-of-the-art fitness and wellness facility offering the latest in exercise equipment as well as opportunities for research, work/study programs and internships. A recent renovation has increased the size of the facility to more than 49,000 square feet.
