BENEFITS IN BRIEF FOR FACULTY and Administrative & Professionals You are eligible for the benefits described in this overview if you
are assigned to work at least 20 hours a week for a period of at least
4-1/2 months, or that you are appointed for at least 50% of a standard
full-time appointment. To be eligible to participate in ORP, you must be
appointed full-time for at least 4-1/2 months. |

Medical coverage is administered through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas, Inc. UT Select PPO allows you the freedom to choose a provider without coordination through a Primary Care Physician. It also provides network, out-of-network and out-of area benefits as well as a prescription program. DENTAL You have the option to elect dental coverage either provided by UT Dental Select PPO, Delta Supplemental Plan, or Assurant Dental DMO.
VISION CARE is provided through Superior Vision and covers glasses or contacts. Term Life coverage for $10,000 is free to you with elected Medical Coverage. You may purchase additional coverage through The Standard up to the lesser of 6x your annual salary or $1.5 million guaranteed issue ($2 million is available with evidence of insurability approval). DEPENDENT LIFE provides spousal coverage for $50,000. Eligible children can be included for $10,000 for each child.
Accidental Death &Dismemberment
coverage for $10,000 is free to you with elected Medical Coverage. You
may purchase additional coverage up to 10x your annual salary, maximum
$1 million. This offers coverage in the event of accidental death and
certain bodily injuries that occur as a result of a covered accident.
You may purchase additional coverage for eligible dependents. |
LONG TERM DISABILITY (LTD) provides income protection should you become disabled. After the 90-day or 180-day elimination period requirement has been satisfied, or you have exhausted your sick leave, whichever is longer, you are eligible to receive 60% of your covered salary once the claim is approved. LONG TERM CARE provides coverage for necessary services once individuals become incapable of caring for themselves. It is offered to you, your spouse, adult children (25 years and older), parents, grandparents, parents-in-law and grandparents-in-law by Continental Casualty Company, a subsidiary of CNA. UT FLEX reduces the amount you pay in Social Security and Federal Income Taxes, via the Internal Revenue Code, Sec. 125, and is used to pay for eligible health care and daycare expenses.
