Business Operations & Facilities - Adminstrative Support
Mr. Michaelski has a Bachelor of Science Degree in accounting with over thirty-one years experience in Financial Management, Accounting and Reporting. In 2003 a chance meeting on a flight to Seattle, Washington, he met his future wife, Lynda. After marrying in late 2003, he moved to Clear Lake Shores, Texas in early 2004 and started working at UTMB later that same year. He has worked in Business Operations and Facilities since 2004, first as the Administrative Operations Manager and mostly recently as the Administrative Director.
His early career experience was in corporate banking as a Financial Analyst with Bankers Trust where his work involved preparation of the banks' annual and quarterly financial statements. After several years in banking his interest led him to a position as a Medicare Auditor with Blue Cross and Blue Shield and then as Assistant Controller with Hospital Corporation of America.
Just prior to starting with UTMB he was employed with an agency within the South Carolina Governor's Office that case managed emotionally disturbed children. During his tenure with the State he worked his way up to Director of Operations where his responsibilities included oversight of Accounting, Contracting, Procurement, Personnel and Information Technology.
