Anthony Haag obtained both his undergraduate and doctorate degrees from the University of New Orleans. Dr. Haag headed the mass spectrometry group at LSU Health Science Center which was one of the few facilities to obtain and utilize the very first electrospray mass spectrometer (VESTEC201). Later, the facility would be the first to utilize MALDI-TOF MS technology. To date, Dr Haag has over 14 years of experience in mass spectrometry, specializing in areas such as the analysis of peptides, proteins, DNA, and small molecules. Dr. Haag joined UTMB in November of 2000 to head the mass spectrometry core facility
