My current responsibilities in BRF and Bioinformatics include the interpretation of two dimensional gel electrophoresis and mass spectrometry data, and advancing the techniques used in their analysis. My research interest is the application of bioinformatics/statistics to biomarker discovery - especially biomarkers for cancer and viral diseases.
Background: I got my Ph.D. in molecular biophysics from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and have postdoctoral experience in computational biology (protein electrostatics, 3-D modeling, simulations) from Columbia University, The Scripps Research Institute, and Baylor College of Medicine before coming to UTMB in 1998.
