I received my undergraduate degree in chemistry from Hendrix College in 1995 and obtained my Ph.D. in analytical chemistry (under Emile Schweikert) from Texas A&M University in 2001. I accepted a postdoctoral position at Johns Hopkins University under Robert Cotter for a few years, and was a visiting scientist at the FBI Academy for another year before coming to work in the BRF here at UTMB in early 2005. In my spare time I enjoy doing karaoke, reading historical fiction, watching movies, and walking with my wife and crazy dogs on the beach.
