The Graduate School will kick off funding boot camp again this term at 4 pm Monday, Feb. 18, in Room 3.320 Levin Hall. Light refreshments will be served. The first two sessions will cover 1) the process of applying for a grant or fellowship, the different types of funding available and how to make your application appealing to reviewers (grantsmanship) and 2) drafting your plan for writing and submitting the grant, descriptions of your sponsor & institution, background, goals & objectives and training in responsible conduct of research. A featured speaker, Dr. Giulio Taglialatela, will provide insights about what reviewers look for. The remaining sessions, through April 8 will be structured for working with your mentor and an editor, with the goal of having an application to submit this summer.
