Lemonade Day at UTMB

The Galveston Lemonade Day committee, through the Galveston Chamber of Commerce, and in coordination with the Ronald McDonald House-Galveston Board, is extremely pleased to invite everyone to support Lemonade Day, a national event with programs in 39 cities across the country. The program encourages local youth to become budding entrepreneurs with a small business practice by building lemonade stands and selling lemonade, as they learn about planning, teamwork, making a profit, marketing, and giving back to the community.

Building on last year’s momentum with its inaugural Lemonade Day, Galveston is taking a share in this fast-growing program, already with more than 350 children through the Galveston Independent School District setting up their lemonade stands on Sunday, May 5, all across the island.

To kick off Lemonade Day, the children from the Ronald McDonald House will be operating their lemonade stand from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., today, in Café on the Court in John Sealy Hospital.  Please stop by and support these inspiring young entrepreneurs.  All proceeds will go to support the Ronald McDonald House of Galveston to provide a "home away from home" for the children who are receiving medical treatment at UTMB and Shriners Burns hospital.
