Get to Know LED (Lab to Eliminate Disparities):
Lab to Eliminate Disparities (LED) was previously called Center to Eliminate Health Disparities (CEHD) and that is how we got this email and website registered with CEHD not LED. Since its inception in 2003, the Center to Eliminate Health Disparities (CEHD) has been involved in a number of projects designed to address health inequities through advancing Health System solutions and addressing the Social Determinants of Health, two core areas of work for the CEHD. Recognizing that long term solutions require vastly increased attention to and capacity for effecting change at the micro and macro levels, Global Health and Leadership Training have emerged as additional core work areas for the CEHD. Although the CEHD had to close due to the funding restraint, the new LED has carried on the mission and the spirit of CEHD. We develop new, innovative and multidisciplinary approaches to address health inequities and implements them through building partnerships with a variety of stakeholders across sectors; and offers technical assistance to others implementing those approaches.
