Clinical Data Repository

The CEHD, in collaboration with UTMB Information Services, Galveston County Health District, Mainland Medical Center, and Gulf Coast Center MHMR Authority, is developing a Clinical Data Repository (CDR), or health information infrastructure, to allow Galveston County’s health care providers to share patient health data.

This shared database is a two-year pilot project funded by the Houston Endowment. When completed, the CDR will provide health information to providers that will assist them provide more efficient and effective care.

The CDR will allow providers to capture and review patient encounter data, including information related to the health status of the individuals receiving care in their facilities and to plan for better resource utilization. The Galveston County project is patterned after a similar model that the ICare Coalition has successfully implemented in Travis County.

For more information on the CDR, please contact Maribel Martinez, CEHD Program Manager, (409) 772-8866.
