Disparities Reducing Advances Project

The CEHD has been a sponsor of the Disparities Reducing Advances Project (DRA) since 2005.  The DRA is a multi-stakeholder project developed by the Institute for Alternative Futures (IAF) to identify advances to increase health initiatives for the poor and underserved and to accelerate developing and deploying these advances to reduce disparities.

The DRA Project is focused on those advances with the highest potential for reducing health disparities and creating a network of organizations committed to accelerating development and deployment. The network includes health care systems, local providers, major federal government agencies, technology developers, and consumer and patient organizations.

DRA-relevant projects that the CEHD is currently working on include the Clinical Data Repository, efforts to launch a national movement focused on social determinants of health, and training a new generation to address health disparities and social determinants.

For more information on UTMB’s involvement in the DRA Project, contact Dr. Nolen.
