The Health Disparities Education, Awareness,
Research & Training Consortium (DHEART)

HDEART Consortium brings together institutions of higher learning along with health care institutions to develop a program to bear the strength of each institution to address the issue of health disparities in minority and medically underserved populations. Almost 30 regional institutions are members of the Consortium, including UTMB.

One of the present efforts is hosting the Annual Workshop on Disparities in Health in America: Working Toward Social Justice. A number of UTMB and CEHD faculty have been involved in the workshop for several years, and UTMB students have the opportunity to attend the workshop for course credit.
