Nicole Aquino, JD

K. Nicole Aquino, J.D., is responsible for reviewing, drafting and implementing institutional policies and procedures to ensure that UTMB remains in compliance with federal and state law and UT System requirements.

Prior to UTMB, Nicole served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Indian Tribe in Oklahoma where she was the primary legal advisor to the tribe's health system. Nicole also litigated several civil cases on behalf of the tribe and counseled tribal officials on legislative matters.

Nicole received her bachelor's degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio and her law degree from the American University-Washington College of Law in Washington, DC. While in law school, Nicole had the honor of serving as a White House intern in the Office of the White House Counsel.

 

Ryan Ingraham, JD

Ryan Ingraham serves as an Associate Compliance Attorney for the University of Texas Medical Branch. He is a recent graduate of the University of Houston Law Center, where he served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Houston Journal of Health Law & Policy, and will complete his LL.M. (Master of Laws) in Health Law from UH Law Center in May 2014. Ryan joined UTMB in February 2014 and assists in planning, implementing, and maintaining the conflict of interest program for the institution, along with assisting with the institution's research compliance program.

Ryan holds a B.A. in Religious Studies from Vanderbilt University and a J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center. He is licensed to practice law in the Great State of Texas.

 

 

Kathy

Kathy Rodriguez, JD

Kathy Rodriguez joined the Office of Institutional Compliance in October of 2012. Her responsibilities in the Compliance Department include providing guidance to various institutional departments and employees related to general compliance matters, conducting investigations, drafting compliance reports, and assisting with institution-wide compliance initiatives.

Prior to joining the Compliance Department full-time in September of 2013, Kathy held a dual position in the Compliance Department and the Department of Legal Affairs. In this dual role, Kathy worked on a variety of compliance projects and assisted with employment law matters.

While in law school, Kathy was an intern with the Department of Legal Affairs. She has additional legal and business experience through internships with law firms in Galveston and Houston and businesses such as Walt Disney World and Madison Square Garden.

Kathy was born on the island (BOI) and returned to Galveston after graduating with honors from New York University. She received a J.D. from South Texas College of Law.
