Biomedical Engineering and Electronics

The department of Biomedical Engineering and Electronics (BMEE) is a technology service delivery organization that provides in-house technical support of medical electronic, microcomputer, research, mechanical and laboratory instrumentation located at the Medical Branch and its affiliations. The department provides the following services:

• Biomedical electronics equipment support (hospital/laboratory/research)
• JCAHO, CAP, SMDA equipment safety and compliance
• Microcomputer systems, LANS and peripherals support
• Research and development-electronics instrument design
• Medical engineering machining-mechanical instrument design
• Service desk/electronic and small parts inventory
• Technical consultation/equipment evaluation
• Cooperative training/student internship
