UTMB Management Responsibilities HandbookResource DepartmentsEqual Opportunity and DiversityThe Office of Equal Opportunity and Diversity (OEOD) exists to foster equal opportunity for all persons involved with the University, and to promote diversity through specific affirmative actions. Its activities help create an environment in which each individual’s contribution is valued. Its activities include consultation, research and application of laws, regulations and policies; training and education; development of employment opportunity activities; promotion of affirmative action in business practices; participation in funding for affirmative action and diversity; resolution of complaints and case procession; collection and analysis of data; and creating linkages with other campus and community resources. It is the goal of the OEOD to support the implementation of related equal opportunity and affirmative action issues, policies and procedures at all levels of the campus community. Department heads should contact OEOD regarding compliance monitoring and interpreting policy and legal requirements.
