Organizational Training, Development & Recognition
(OT,D&R)
The Human Resources Organizational Training, Development and Recognition
(OT,D&R) division offers courses and programs designed specifically
for University staff employees, to increase their effectiveness in their
current positions, as well as to contribute to their professional development.
In addition to numerous short courses, the division offers the New Employee
Orientation Program, departmentally-customized workshops and consultations.
A current listing of training and development is circulated regularly.
HR:Employee Relations
The Human Resources Employee Relations division is the primary resource
to department personnel charged with the responsibility for the administration
of personnel policies. The division provides advice and counsel concerning
policy interpretation and legal requirements, ongoing practices, appropriate
application of policy and procedures, changes in policy and law, grievances,
and appeals.
HR: Recruitment
The Human Resources’ Recruitment division is responsible for
staff recruitment, applicant screening, and placement for staff employees,
in compliance with University policies, and federal and state laws and
regulations. The division coordinates staff transfers, promotions, and
rehires.
HR: Information Systems
The Human Resources Information Systems division processes staff personnel
transactions and provides human resources management data to departments.
Additionally, the division supports the automated applicant tracking
system, development of automated human resources management systems,
and maintains employee personnel files.
HR: Compensation
The Human Resources Compensation division provides leadership and guidance
in the design, development and administration of the institution’s
executive and staff compensation and total rewards programs. The division
provides consulting services on programs for faculty and non-teaching
employees on an as needed basis. The division chairs the UTMB Institutional
Compensation Steering Committee (ICSC) to ensure effective programs
and the most appropriate allocation of resources for attracting and
retaining quality employees.
HR: Consulting Services
The Human Resources Consulting Services division provides subject matter
expertise on: job evaluations, qualification assessments, management
counseling, staffing metrics, employee coaching and many other employment
issues. The division also processes unemployment claims.
