Research Services

Research Services is an organization that includes Research Administrative Services, Committee Support (Institutional Review Board, the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee, Conflict of Interest Committee), Education, Communication and Funding, Center for Technology Development, and the Animal Resource Center.

Research Services supports the efforts of the principal investigator (PI) and their academic administrators to meet their business obligations and other terms and conditions of the University, the state and the sponsor. Research Services facilitates and assists the PI in the following manner:

• Serving as an information resource
• Reviewing funding applications
• Negotiating the terms and conditions of grants and contracts
• Providing feedback to the PI about interpretation of sponsor rules and regulations
• Preparing expenditure reports including invoice submission
• Providing guidance with UTMB policies and procedures
