Our Mission
The UTMB Office of Institutional
Compliance was established to:
- Develop standards and
procedures to ensure UTMB's compliance with all State and Federal
laws and regulations, such as Medicare and Medicaid.
- Establish compliance awareness
and responsibility in every employee through general and specific
compliance training.
- Monitor activities to
ensure that policies and procedures established for compliance are
effective.
- Participate in any external
audit review process, resolve compliance issues and respond to legal
or administrative inquiries related to compliance issues or audits.
- Provide advice and direction
to senior management, staff and employees to maximize compliance with
statutory, regulatory and case law requirements.
- To fulfill its mission
and serve the needs of the UTMB community, the Office of Institutional
Compliance is divided into two parts: Institutional Compliance and
Health Care Compliance.
