Q |
Last
evening, while I was having dinner with my family, I received
a knock on my door. The person at the door identified herself
as an FBI agent who wished to talk to me about my work at
UTMB. Should I have spoken with her? |
A |
UTMB does not
prevent you from talking to the agent; however, to protect
yourself and UTMB, you may ask the FBI agent to contact
you at your office. You are not required to speak to the
agent at your home. You should notify the UTMB Legal Affairs
Department at (409) 772-4818 of the contact by the agent. |
Q |
I
notice that a friend is on the schedule to have a medical
procedure. I would like to express my concern about her
problem. May I tell her I hope the procedure goes well? |
A |
No.
Even though you want to be kind to your friend, you would
be even kinder by respecting her privacy and not mentioning
anything about her medical condition. |
Q |
I
received a notice that the Texas Department of Human Services
auditors will audit the grant I administer. Do I need to
let anyone at UTMB know? |
A |
Yes.
You should notify the UTMB Audit Services Department at
(409) 772-2656. No matter which agency it is or the type
of audit the agency is performing, you should notify UTMB
Audit Services so that they can be a part of the initial
interview and be certain that all information can be made
available. UTMB Audit Services has staff specifically trained
to assist external auditors. |
