software. Employees who use software licensed to UTMB
must abide by applicable software license agreements and may copy
licensed software only as permitted by the license. Unauthorized
duplication of copyrighted software is a violation of federal
copyright law. Furthermore, it is illegal to install licensed
software on more than one computer, unless the license expressly
provides for more than one installation. Direct any questions
you may have about applicable software license agreements to your
supervisor or the UTMB Office of Information Services (409) 772-3800.

of copyrighted material. Most works should be presumed
to be copyright protected, unless further information from the
copyright holder or express notice reveals that the copyright
holder intends the work to be in the public domain. The University
of Texas System’s policy on Photocopying Copyrighted Materials
and Appendix I, Classroom Copying of Books and Periodicals and

. This policy governs the photocopying of copyrighted materials
by faculty, staff, and students of all UT System component institutions,
including UTMB. Permission must be obtained from the copyright
owner to copy copyrighted materials where (a) copying extends
beyond the boundaries of the guidelines contained in Appendix
I of the Photocopying Copyrighted Materials policy, (b) advice
of the General Counsel has not been sought, and (c) copying is
not fair use. |
