SALARY
EQUITY STUDY
(From Executive Summary)
The Core Committee
For the Support of Women Faculty and Academic Administrators in
conjunction with the Core Committee on Minorities requested that a
salary equity study be done to examine the salaries of all UTMB faculty.
Data were obtained from each school and analyzed by an outside
consultant. Information was
requested for all full-time faculty at the rank of Assistant Professor
or higher and included: school of primary appointment, department,
degree, rank, tenure/non-tenure track, subspecialty, board
certification, administrative appointment, gender, and ethnicity. Salary
information was to be divided into salary components comparable with
those used in other such studies (annual salary without incentives or
bonuses). Although data
were requested initially in early 1999, a final corrected set of data
was delivered to the consultant in 2000.
