UTMB Plastic Surgery

Cosmetic Surgery Clinic - General Information

Location:
The Plastic Surgery Clinic is located on the 5th floor of the University Hospital Clinics building.

Clinic Hours:
The clinics are open Monday through Friday, 8:00-4:30. We are closed on weekends and holidays.

Operating Room Hours:
The operating room is available to our surgeons on their designated day(s) and time(s) Monday through Friday.

Availability of Services:
Many cosmetic services are available by appointment and in the convenience of our clinic exam and procedure rooms.

More extensive cosmetic surgery is performed in the hospital operating room. Patients will initially schedule an outpatient visit with the surgeon to discuss the procedure in detail. Prior to the surgery date, patients must meet with the Day Surgery Unit anesthesiologist. During that time, the anesthesiologist will discuss the anesthesia that will be used. This is usually done 3 days to a month prior to the surgery. After surgery, patients are scheduled for follow-up in our clinic.

Fees:
Payment for cosmetic surgery is due in full prior to the procedure.

Estimates may be given over the phone for services performed in the outpatient clinic, such as Botox, hair and tattoo removal, microdermabrasion and chemical peels. However, the final quote is not determined until patients meet with the surgeon and/or nursing staff.

A financial representative will quote appropriate fees based on the service requested. Quotes for surgery performed in the operating or procedure room can only be given after patients first meet with the surgeon. The surgeon will determine the scope of service requested, and then have the financial representative supply the quote.

Fees are subject to change without notice.

What to Expect:
Our goal is to provide professional and courteous service to all of our patients. From the time you schedule your appointment to the completion of your care, we hope you find your experience to be pleasant and rewarding.

It is extremely important to remember that while our goal is to help you enhance your appearance, surgery and other cosmetic services cannot change who you are and won’t necessarily cause others to treat you differently. Having realistic expectations is essential to a successful outcome.
