99 Workshop &
Course Dates:
October 10th
The class is 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Please
arrive 5-10 minutes early, late arrivals will not be permitted and must
reschedule.
Introduction:
This workshop is designed to prepare the healthcare worker to provide basic
and advanced resuscitation procedures to all patients experiencing respiratory
distress or cardiopulmonary arrest.

Review Code 99 Policy

Review Moderate Sedation Policy

Recall the numbers to call in a “CODE” situation

Identify the roles of code team members
-
Review basic life support/CPR/defibrillation (Automated External Defibrillation)

State rationale for defibrillation

Demonstrate airway management - use of O2 delivery devices, airway adjuncts, bag-valve-mask
-
Describe desired effects of emergency drugs
-
Locate the emergency equipment within the blue code cart

Discuss documentation of a Code 99 and practice on Resuscitation Flow Sheet

Review Common code Rhythms
-
Participate in a mock code
Prerequisites and
Renewals

Course participants must be proficient in CPR.

Suggested annual renewal.
