Instructor Classes For American Heart Association Classes

The Education Laboratory at UTMB Hospital is a Community Training Center for American Heart Association. We offer Instructor classes to people who are proficient in BLS, ACLS, and PALS. These classes are usually offered twice a year. If interested call (409) 772-2823. We will take your contact information for the next upcoming class

  • Heartsaver CPR and Heartsaver AED Instructor 

  • CPR in Schools

Upcoming Course Dates:

            Basic Life Support  (BLS) Instructor CourseNo course currently scheduled.

            Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Instructor Course No course currently scheduled.

            Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor CourseNo course currently scheduled.

Registration cost: (cost of registration includes course materials).

            Basic Life Support Instructor Course:  $150

            Pediatric Life Support Instructor Course:  $150

            Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor Course:  $200

Please review & submit the following complete "Application Packet" (Candidate Application, UTMB Instructor Requirements, UTMB Training Instructor Policy, UTMB Instructor Candidate Checklist) to the UTMB Training Center containing the following:  (Note:  Incomplete Packets or packets missing documentation will be returned and not considered).

If you have any questions please review the instructor packet & it will answer most questions you may have. After reviewing the entire packet; email us for clarification on any unanswered questions.  

After approval of the submitted Application Packet, we contact the Instructor Candidate and offer the opportunity to register for the next available course by purchasing materials and paying for the course at UTMB.

BLS, ACLS, and PALS Instructor Candidates are registered only after completing the above and paying for the course. Please contact Edward Norman at Ed Norman (409) 772-5513 to verify your status.

 

 

 

  The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in BLS, ACLS, and PALS and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course material, do not represent income to the Association.
