Specialty Classes Offered at UTMB
UTMB
offers a wide variety of other classes to the community and healthcare
profession. Listed below are some of these classes offered here at UTMB & the

Registration
and costs are dependant upon the type of class needed and the number of
students. You need to email Pat Trevisani
or contact her at (409) 772-2823 for more information and classes you are
interested in.
Class
Dates and Times: Dates and times are dependant upon the classes desired and the availability of the Education Lab Personnel.
Special 1 Hour Basic Resuscitation Class This class is designed for lay-persons (non-healthcare professionals) that DO NOT work with patients directly. This class covers only Adult CPR (patients over the age of 8) & Adult Choking. This is a course for general knowledge and no card is issued with this class. Time permitting we may add the use of the AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) with this course. Next class dates are: N/A If interested contact us at (409) 772-2823 or email Lori Dix.
Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) This class is designed for healthcare professionals that tend to children with burn injuries. Classes are scheduled through Mike Buffalo at Shriners Hospital in Galveston, Texas (next door to UTMB). NRP Course You may also contact Jan Mullen with Nursing Services for UTMB staff. Contact Faye Bounds (409-772-6090) for outside clients.
TNCC Course This is a specific course for nurses that may be interested in special care or critical care. Contact Christine Smith at (409) 747 - 0152 for more information.
