Students already in graduate study are eligible, though not past their second year.   The Fellowship provides $20,000 maintenance and half tuition wherever the Fellow attends.  Candidates must be either holders of Green cards, naturalized citizens, or children of two naturalized citizen parents.  The deadline is November 30, 2000 and the announcement of the recipients will be in late February, 2001.

Preference in making awards shall be given to graduates of  Texas medical schools.   Applicants are accepted from, and awards may be made to, one or more of the following:

  • A female graduate of a recognized medical school for use in post-graduate or research work in  medical  fields.
  • A woman who has been awarded in a Ph.D. degree from a Texas university who is doing research in  a  medical field.
  • A woman who needs financial aid for the first year in establishing a family practice in a rural area with  a  population not exceeding 5,000.
  • A fourth year female medical student for completion of M.D. or D.O. degree in an accredited school  in the State of  Texas.

Applications together with a photograph and four letters of reference by January 15th of each year should be mailed to the address indicated above.   Application are available in the Financial Aid office or by contacting the number referenced above.

Scholarships available in the amount of $2,500 to $5,000.  Applicants must:

  • Be engaged in active research towards the cure of   Alzheimer's and AIDS.
  • Be working towards a graduate degree
  • Submit a letter from the supervising professor
  • Submit a progress report at agreed upon intervals
  • Limit use of funds for administrative purposes to a maximum of 5%
  • Submit a letter detailing how funds are to be used, and
  • Designate a person to oversee the spending of funds

Grants available in the amount of $10,000 to $20,000.   Applicants must:

  • Conduct research on Alzheimer's or AIDS
  • Limit use of funds for administrative purposes to a maximum of 5%
  • Submit a progress report at agreed upon intervals
  • Submit curriculum vitae(s) of principal investigator
  • Submit a letter detailing how funds are to be used, and
  • Designate a person to oversee the spending of funds.

The deadline for submitting scholarship or grant proposals is March 15 of each year.  Applications received after the deadline will remain on file by the Foundation to be considered for funding in the following year.   Send the original application form and three (3) copies along with supporting documents to the address indicated above.

The Pilot Club of Dickinson is looking for student meeting certain requirements to apply for Pilot International scholarships.  The Marie Newton Sepia Memorial Scholarship is to provide financial aid to qualified graduate students who are preparing for careers in, or who are already working with, children with brain-related disorders/disabilities.  Applicants must have received a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Applications should be requested no later than January 1st of each year.  The completed application deadline is February 1st of each year.
