EMIG - Emergency Medicine Interest Group

Our mission is to develop and provide excellence in Emergency Medicine education.  Our goal is to be a nationally recognized center of excellence in Emergency Medicine education at all levels.  The objective is to produce the finest training programs in Emergency Medicine for Medical Students, Residents and Fellows and continuing education for Emergency Medicine providers and educators.  Accomplishing our mission improves patient care, research and scholarly productivity and furthers Emergency Medical Education.

4th Year Medical Student - Elective

  •   Acting Internship Adult Emergency Medicine 

    Goals

     The student will be exposed to the rapid assessment and stabilization of critically ill and injured patients. The student will gain experience in the diagnosis and initial management of common problems encountered in an emergency center. The student will have the opportunity to learn and assist in a variety of procedures including: suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, peripheral and central line placement, CPR, advanced resuscitation, etc.

     

  •       Acting Internship Pediatric Emergency Medicine

    Goals

     The student will be exposed to the rapid assessment and stabilization of critically ill and injured pediatric patients. The student will gain experience in the diagnosis and initial management of common pediatric problems encountered in an emergency center. The student will have the opportunity to learn and assist in a variety of procedures including: suturing, splinting, incision and drainage, peripheral and central line placement, CPR, advanced resuscitation, etc.
