EDUCATION

Match Day:

The Match Day Ceremony will take place on Friday, March 15th, at 11 a.m. in Levin Hall Main Auditorium. This is an exciting time for our 219 medical students who are participating in the match this year.

54th Annual National Student Research Forum:

The National Student Research Forum (NSRF) is scheduled for April 25 - 26, 2013 in UTMB Levin Hall Main Auditorium. The NSRF, which is organized and governed by students, provides an opportunity for medical and graduate students as well as interns and residents to present their biomedical research findings. Participants receive critical review and recognition of their research by their peers and established scientists.

The Keynote Speaker will be Alan Guttmacher, MD, a pediatrician and medical geneticist, is the Director of the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (“NICHD”).

CLINICAL

TB Screening:

The Health System has announced an April 30^th deadline for health care workers in Nursing Services and Clinics to complete TB screening this year. UTMB Health requires that all health care workers participate in annual tuberculosis (TB) screening to help prevent the spread of the disease. Screening is also a condition of continued employment for anyone who provides direct patient care, enters patient rooms or comes within six feet of patients in the course of their duties.
