Things have been slow due to the intervening holiday
since the last report.
People:
- Dr. Vicki
Freeman was appointed to the Potthast Professorship.
- Dr. Michelle
Kanuth was approved for an Emeritus Professor appointment in the School of
Health Professions. Dr. Kanuth
retired at the end of November.
Education:
- The Department
of Physician Assistant Studies had their White Coat Ceremony for the Class
of 2013. Dr. Protas gave the
keynote address and Dr. Robert Beech presented each student with their
white coats. Eighty-seven students
were recognized and recited their professional pledge.
- Applicant
interviews will be completed for the Physical Therapy program by Feb. 3rd,
and Occupational Therapy has admitted 2/3s of the class for next
fall. Physician Assistant Studies
will complete their interviews this month for fall entry.
- We have received
or anticipate 1520 applications for 344 positions in 5
programs for fall admission.
- Fifteen new
students enrolled for the new Masters of Health Professions and the
Masters of Science in Clinical Lab Sciences for spring coursework. Eighty-three physical therapists are
enrolled in the on-line Doctorate of Physical Therapy program.
